This memoir covers George’s journey from suburban stability through childhood trauma, to a diagnosis of schizophrenia and sanity beyond it. Trauma that arrests George’s development in childhood spawns a search for unshakable security. That security will bring freedom from the darkness that held him back.

Resilience requires the ability to see their trauma within a larger perspective, and George takes the reader along with him as he develops this ability. His first step toward reframing experiences was to write about them, which he began to do at an early age. Decades of writing were encapsulated in this memoir.
