Education regarding sexuality is central to our understanding of God, ourselves as male and female made in His image, and the connectedness with God and with each other for which human beings were created. Such education is a lifelong process.

The development of a comprehensive curriculum framework is the first step toward empowering parents and others in the church and school setting for their role in educating children and youth about sexuality. For Seventh-day Adventists, the curriculum development process begins with the biblical principles and teachings that set the parameters for the church's message.

This curriculum details the key concepts that need to be taught and suggests the ages/developmental stages at which each is best introduced. Within these pages, an array of culturally-sensitive educational resources wait to be brought to life. The children, youth, and adults in our pews deserve our best efforts to enlighten their understanding of God's design for human sexuality and the practical working of this knowledge in everyday life.
